How To Change The Keyboard of Compaq CQ60

If your have a HP/Compaq CQ60 and you like it very much, however, you must will take it everywhere as you love it. So the keyboard of it is easy to be dirty, even some of the keys no longer work consistently. When this happens, you can change and replace your compaq cq60 keyboard, this is six step to tell you how to do it.

1.Shut the CQ60 down, close the screen and remove the hp 446506-001 battery module. Disconnect all cables, including the AC adapter cable, and turn the computer over so the screen faces down.

2.Locate and remove the Phillips-head screw on the bottom of the CQ60 with a memory module-shaped icon. The screw secures a plastic panel to the bottom of the computer. Remove the panel to uncover the memory expansion area for the CQ60.

3.Unscrew and remove the two Torx screws inside the memory expansion compartment. Turn the CQ60 over and open the screen.
4.Locate the four black tabs between the keys along the top row of the CQ60 keyboard. Push each tab down, toward the palm rest of the computer. Lift the keyboard out of the CQ60 and place it upside-down on the palm rest.

5.Push the plastic tab on the keyboard cable connector to release the cable. Slide the keyboard cable out. If your computer has a pointing stick, repeat this process with the smaller ribbon cable next to the keyboard cable. Set the CQ60 keyboard aside.

6.Install a new Presario CQ60 Keyboard, or replace the original keyboard after cleaning it, by repeating the previous steps in reverse.

The only part which does not seem so professional is the scroll wheel. It works great, but the build quality gives me a hint of a doubt as of how much time it will last (at least compared with the rest of the mouse, which has awesome build quality).

It perfectly works. it works very well in W7 and doesn´t install any driver… the answer is very fast… and the usb connector is very small… it is difficult to lost the connection… I don’t have problems to introduce the battery… it´s easy to install and I don´t need…. the battery lasts for a long time because the mouse switched off, but it’s very easy to “turn on” again… I use every day, here 4 months on one battery already there are more, for the night the button on/off I do not switch. I even didn’t think that one battery can suffice for such period. The popular battery is used. Lateral buttons and hasn’t learned to use, but also don’t disturb. Good purchase, I recommend. If I would choose today I have bought the same product. It is very useful and well-built gadget! It is a great purchase, though a bit expensive.
